An investigation is underway after a Sumburgh-bound commercial flight was forced to turn back to Aberdeen suffering an engine fault.
The incident happened on Loganair’s flight BE6780 from Aberdeen on Thursday. Thirty passengers and three members of crew were onboard.
During the flight the crew responded to a warning indication, which shut one of the engines down as a precautionary measure.
A spokesman for Loganair said: “On landing at Aberdeen passengers were each offered overnight accommodation and re-booked to travel to Sumburgh on scheduled flights on Friday.
“We would like to take this opportunity to apologise to our passengers for any inconvenience caused.
The safety our passengers and staff is always of paramount importance to Loganair.”
