Lerwick Celtic broke Spurs’ run of league titles with a 2-1 victory in the deciding play-off.

Roy Wood’s far post header put Celtic in control of the tie early in the first half after a spell of pressure.

Spurs grew into the game but failed rarely properly tested Celtic’s goalkeeper aside from a disallowed goal for offside.

Celtic started the second half brightly, and had a Connor Regan penalty saved. Jordan Thomason then had a chance from the spot and, in spite of Grant Wood saving once more, Thomason followed up to put Celtic 2-0 up.

Paul Molloy broke the offside trap and finished powerfully for 2-1, ensuring a nervy finish, but Celtic held on in an enthralling game.

Celtic captain Joel Bradley accepted the G&S Flooring Premier League trophy from Shetland Football Association president Irvine Burgess, with both teams commended for their part in a fitting end to an entertaining season.
