A Danish trawler was towed to Lerwick yesterday after her propeller became wound up in the cod end of her own net.

The 28-metre Karbak was taken in tow by another Danish stern trawler, the larger Tobis, about 90 miles north-east of Lerwick.

It took 24 hours for the two boats to make it to Lerwick, during which time the tow line parted three times.

On reaching the harbour the Karbak was assisted by the tugs Knab and Kebister, which helped her get alongside.
