Mareel has attracted nearly three times its expected cinema audience during its first seven weeks of operation, according to Shetland Arts director Gwilym Gibbons.
So far 14,619 people have attended the two cinemas against a target in the business plan of 5,362 with more people due to attend tonight before the seven-week period is up.
The annual target for cinema sales is 39,834.
Mr Gibbons thanked all those who had visited the £12 million venue since it opened.
He was speaking at the GetAmbITion conference in Mareel today.
